We track progress and communicate through:

  • Personalized written client reviews that detail our rationale for any investment changes we make
  • Meetings to review your investment objectives, income requirements, and financial plan
  • Quarterly Investment Strategy outlining our capital market outlook and recommended strategy for equity and fixed income investments

Value Oriented Investing

  • Patterned after Warren Buffett style of value analysis
    • Buy what we consider to be quality stocks at a discount which offer exceptional value relative to their own history and their industry peers
    • We look for established, mostly large-cap and mid-cap companies as well as select small or micro-cap companies that also promise above-average earnings growth and returns over a multi-year period
  • Tax Efficient: Typically hold investments for at least 1 year and preferably much longer which may significantly reduce taxes triggered by realizing capital gains (low portfolio turnover)
  • Dividend focus: Our portfolios have typically generated 30-50% more dividend yield than the S&P 500 Index

Putting You First

  • Independent
  • Subject to a fiduciary standard of care that places clients' interests first

"Never take an outsized risk unless the odds are significantly in your favor" - Jeff & Phil Keating

We search for companies that we believe have strong brands and highly defensible positions in their industry. Emphasis is given to growing companies that produce a surplus of cash that they faithfully return to shareholders through growing dividends and/or stock buybacks. If executed correctly, this approach tends to lag in performance during raging bull markets but outperforms during neutral to down markets. Consistency and reducing the likelihood of a significant negative outcome over a reasonable holding period are hallmarks of this approach.

"Every day you do not learn something new is a failure" - Jeff Keating

Continuous learning is critical to success in life and investing. We take pride in analyzing investments thoroughly, staying current with the changing financial world, and providing tools to help clients understand what they own and why they own it.
